Hi, I love the possibility of connecting the flight sim to easyvfr to get the plane on the app. Now, would it be possible to create a feature that, in the same manner, the GPS coordinates are broadcasted by the PC, would broadcast any traffic visible on the app screen, so the sim could pick it up and display it? I'm not asking for the sim part, just the broadcast of the traffic seen on easyvfr's screen to the local network in a similar manner (part from GPS coordinates, the identifier would be needed). This would help make simming even more realistic!

can't find any contact info for you directly, so i try via this forum ;-)

For stability reasons, i want to go back to the wired / rs232 to USB adapter setup in the airplane (with EV4 running on a windows machine). The USB to Serial adapter is connected to a hardware FLARM. However, EV4 still does not support direct COM / serial access (or output), and it will probably take some more time until this arrives...

Based on your FSConny, it would be quite easy to come up with a version that retransmits a Com Port Serial stream to EV4 / localhost, instead of using the flightsim as source and faking the stream?! That could be quite a nice additional use case, running the tool locally on the same windows PC as EV4.

I'd be glad to support the development.

Just wanted to drop in and share some cool stuff we've been working on with Ubi Sumus and EasyVFR 4.

New Tool: FSConny for MSFS2020
We've got this new tool called FSConny. It makes EasyVFR 4 work better with MSFS2020. The coolest part? You can now see the traffic from MSFS2020 right in EasyVFR 4. It’s pretty neat and makes things feel more real.

Updates for All Simulators
And it’s not only for MSFS2020. We’ve improved EasyVFR 4 for all the simulators we support. We wanted to make your sim flying smoother and more fun.

Youtube Video
We also made a video to show you how to use your simulator to act like a GPS for EasyVFR 4. It’s handy for practicing real flights or just flying in the sim. You should definitely check it out.

Documentation and Downloads
All the info, downloads for FSConny, and the video are over at https://easyvfr4.aero/sim

Hope you enjoy these updates as much as we do. Happy flying and happy holidays!

Is there any working freeware alternative app for Xconn when connecting to msfs2020?

I've been using Xconn for a while but ever since refreshing rate is low and above all it is droping connection with EV4 very often. It is just annoying.

I tried out other software like "fs2ff" or "MSFS 2020 GPS Link" but despite both send packets on the same UDP port 49002, EV4 doesn't see a thing.

BTW fs2ff was my main connectivity app for skydemon and it worked flawlessly. With Xconn it is less reliable performance.

Thanx

Regards

Hello, I have checked EasyVFR 4 after long time and it looks much better. I would also use it! :-) But will not :-(

The reason is, for flight safety I use emulated FLARM device on EVFR3, that sends FLARM NMEA data on IP port 2000 and it does not work. I also have hardware emulated FLARM device, that receives GPS data sent from EVF3 at 255.255.255.255:2001 and sends NMEA to EVFR3 at 192.168.2.1:2000. That does not work either in EVFR4 because there is no GPS sharing settings in EVFR4.

So I will still stick with EVFR3, because it shows me nearby traffic and even exact location of other traffic on map, just with use of short python script that sends all data to EVFR3 at 127.0.0.1:2000.
