as my eEasyVfr4 with Stratux works so easy and smooth, i tryed to connect my Ipad the same way with my TBeam with SoftRf, actual MB Version 1.5x via WiFi. But without success. Is there anybody here, who can tell me, what i have to set up to get it work. The TBeam is much smaller, which makes it much easyer to install than the Stratux.

Using iPad with SkyEcho2. Generally working well. A few major issues though:

1. Targets disappear at times and then suddenly return. I think EV4 ought to keep them for a while longer even if SkyEcho seems to think they are gone.

2. Magenta line overlays the targets. Really bad when this blocks the view to the altitude of the target.

3. The font of the target is really hard to read. Too small. Need an option to enlarge it, especially when target is close by. I need to know the altitude! Really hard to read, especially in combination with #2.

4. Sometimes it shows jets when it's a prop plane. No idea why.

This is really critical functionality. Flarm targets with their low range may give me just a few seconds to figure out how to handle them. #2/#3 are a real problem in those situations.

Can you get it sorted please…

Its confusing mainly due to the fact that the App Store describes one thing and the website say another for the user levels….and although the Apple store entry under “In APP purchases” lists “Live” and “Pro” nothing there for FFM or FLARM…. AND the app its-self does not show ANY purchase options….

As one of the initiators of the Stratux Europe Edition, I am happy to see how smoothly Stratux integrates with EasyVFR 4 (just downloaded and tested). I assume that many EasyVFR users already are running such a combination successfully.

Although Stratux started first for the US market and therefore (besides ADS-B) supports 978MHz UAT, the Stratux Europe Edition Team significantly enhanced the US version for use in Europe to also support 868MHz based traffic. For more information, please visit https://github.com/b3nn0/stratux.

I just updated the EFB configuration wiki accordingly for EasyVFR 4: https://github.com/b3nn0/stratux/wiki/EFB-Configuration

For more question, feel free to contact me - as I have no EasyVFR 3 running, I can only speculate about the configuration there. For both versions it is important to disable the "GDL90: Use MSL instead of HAE" switch in the Stratux settings menu so that traffic altitudes are correctly displayed in EasyVFR. As the Stratux Europe Edition also supports the FLARM-NMEA protocol, I will be testing this shortly and report if it works with EasyVFR and how the required configuration is.

Best,

The information states that wifi traffic data can be streamed directly to a number of Nav Apps.. Skydemon, XC Soar etc and including EasyVfr.

My question is:

Now that traffic info can be directly streamed directly without any decoding on the part of the App provider ( Easyvfr)does that mean that there is no longer an annual subscription to receive Flarm data on EasyVfr?

Hello, I have self-built FLARM hardware device (EasyADBS) and I also created software emulator that sends FLARM NMEA data to EasyVFR 3. The hardware requires that EasyVFR 3 sends out its own GPS data on TCP IP port 255.255.255.255:2001. My software emulator does not require this GPS data and uses devices GPS directly.

I could not get the hardware working in EasyVFR 4. Most probably the reason is that there is no settings to share its own GPS data on 255.255.255.255:2001. Without that, the hardware EasyADBS gets stuck and does not send any FLARM data. It operates at 192.168.2.1:2000. By analyzing traffic, I can see that EasyVFR scans this address and probably 5 other adresses, but never gets response - because it does not share own GPS address.

Another problem is with my software emulator. It produces FLARM NMEA sentences at 127.0.0.1:2000, but when I enter that setting into EasyVFR 4 and then check the communication, the EasyVFR 4 never listens on 127.0.0.1:2000. Why is that?

I think these two limitations against EasyVFR 3 reduce safety of your software and should be fixed.

Best regards, Jan
