EasyVFR 4.8.9: Plan it, note it, tune it

A built-in Note Pad, a calendar for your takeoff time, searchable flight plans, and Becker radio tuning.

EasyVFR 4.8.9 is out of beta and in production available in your device's app store and on our download page. It's one of our biggest releases this year. Four new features move work off your kneeboard and into the app.

What’s new
✏️ Note Pad: your kneeboard, built in Write down ATIS, clearances, squawk codes and fuel checks without leaving EasyVFR 4. Draw with your finger or stylus, or type text. Your notes sync across all your devices, and you can add them to your TripKit PDF.

📅 Plan for the time you'll actually fly A new calendar sets your planned takeoff date and time. The map then shows the NOTAMs and active airspaces for that time, not for right now.

🗂️ Find any flight plan in seconds Add keywords when you save a flight plan, then filter by them when you load one. You can sort by last used, favorite or file name.

📻 Remote tuning for supported radios In our last newsletter we said that sending frequencies to your radio was in alpha testing. It's now live for the Becker AR620X series and others: Remote tuning of your VHF Radio via bluetooth or wifi. Send frequencies from EasyVFR 4 directly to your radio, over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Behind the scenes
We're working on three big projects:

- EasyVFR 4: major performance and compatibility work, including 64-bit Windows and Apple silicon Macs, plus a new Nearest option and links to AIP SUP documents. Some of this is already in the latest beta at easyvfr4.aero/beta.
- Dynon Data Manager: a much faster and better way to prepare your Dynon USB stick, for one aircraft or several. More on this soon.
- NOTAMbriefing.com: a big upgrade is coming very soon, with multi-day NOTAM and airspace activation schedules, options to plan ahead, and many smaller improvements you asked for.
