Hello Aviators!

It took some time to create this new beta release, but finally here it is! Besides some interesting fixes and improvements this version implements one of the most requested features:  A Direct To any upcoming waypoint in a defined route.

When a route is loaded and EasyVFR4 is in flying mode then the RouteCard will show three dots at the right side of each LIB to indicate options are available.

image

When such an option is tapped a DirectTo button will be available.

image

When tapping that button EasyVFR4 will modify the route to start with the current position direct to the waypoint selected, and continue the route from there. Also all numbers like ETA, Distance to Destination etc will be re-calculated

image

To cancel the DirectTo route and continue with the original route use the [Cancel DirectTo option]

📝 RELEASE NOTES

All changes in this beta cycle since the last public App Store release:

NEW: Direct To any of the upcoming waypoints in RouteCard (flight mode must be enabled to use this feature).
NEW: In menu -> myEasyVFR, it is now possible to share your global settings and/or instrument ribbon settings with other users, similar to how routes are shared.
NEW: In Aircraft Profiles, it is now possible to share the active Aircraft Profile with other users.
NEW: iOS/iPad version now fully supports background running (not only location but also airspace warnings, speech, etc.).
FIXED: When adding user waypoints by tapping on the screen, a minimum number of identification characters was required. This is now consistent with adding waypoints through the myWaypoints menu.
FIXED: Various crashing issues with my User Waypoints.
FIXED: VPV now respects the tap & hold preference setting.
FIXED: The Windows version could be launched multiple times, causing file corruption. Now only one instance is allowed.
FIXED: Dynon and MGL WiFi transfer of routes did not show the buttons correctly when the device was in landscape mode.
IMPROVED: VPV now asks for confirmation before changing the altitude for a leg.
IMPROVED: my User Waypoints now has an option to pan & zoom to the map for any of the user waypoints.
IMPROVED: my User Waypoints now shows a scrollbar.
IMPROVED: HX airspace was previously considered always active (although class status still kept it active). HX will now not be a determining factor for airspace activity status.

Great update, thanks chaps…!

1 trivial glitch, 1 non trivial, plus 1 request:

Trivial: Direct To works even when not in flight mode (no problem, but you might like to know)

Non-trivial: VPV zoom function now inop (pan works fine) - maybe related to the new alt change confirmation?

Request: fantastic that we can share settings - this will also be great for a planned device change (share settings (make a note), install EV on new device, apply old settings 👍) but what about a crash which forces a delete and re-install…? This could not be predicted, so the settings will not be shared anywhere - can they be made to save to the cloud, like User Waypoints are?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

P 🙃🛩🪂
