whatever the difference is, you are missing the French AZBA.  Military low flying routes, published about 24h in advance.  Some airspaces are marked „probably not active“, even though they are activated in advance.

AFIK The French AZBA activated airspaces are always announced by a NOTAM. We link these NOTAMS to the corresponding airspaces and use the absence of such a NOTAM as indication an airspace (part) is not active. to verify I checked the French AZBA site https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/azbaEx/ , top right there is a button "Liste des zones activées" that currently mentions there are no active zones at all; so I cannot actually verify that statement.

Lets keep a look out together and verify if this matching of NOTAMs vs AZBA info is still applicable

Hello Rob,

after flying in France for some time, I can confirm that most of the time the active airspaces are correctly marked.

There was one day, where the active airspace according to the AZBA website

https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/azbaEx/

was not visible in EV.  Possibly because the NOTAM was not yet published.  I did the planning one day before.  On the actual flying day it was marked.

I verified today, here is a screenshot of EasyVFR4 on the left side and the French AZBA site on the right. As you can see EV4 has nicely coloured the activate airspaces and rendered the not active ones using a dimmed colour.

To be honest I don't know at what time these NOTAMs get published; I can imagine they are published on the day itself. Let me check the current one :

We received this one via eurocontrol yesterday at 13:22UTC.

Rob, thank you for explaining the feature.  In retrospect the NOTAMs are the explanation.

When checking my route for active AZBAs, I had only updated the AUP.  The NOTAMs where only a few hours old, so I omitted them.
