I personally rarely use the vertical profile except for pre-flight planning purposes, however the vertical profile icon when not in use in flight currently sits at the top of the screen and the Layout info strip sits underneath it therefore blocking and taking up quite a large section of mapping chart on the screen. The Layout info I would like to see at the very top of the screen.

So..

Personally I think it would be better to see the vertical profile icon, when not in use, below the Layout info strip or better still, for me at least, to have this small vertical profile icon not permanently shown at all on the main screen but have it selectable from within one of the menus.

Or maybe it is possible to delete it from the main screen in flight and I just haven't found a way of doing it?

Thoughts,

Alan.

Hi Alan

I don't know what device you are using but on my Android device the VP icon drops off screen along with all of the other lower buttons when in flight mode or if you use the Clear Screen button at the far lower right of the screen.

Equally if in flight and you wish to activate the VP you can do so by pressing the Clear Screen button to bring up all the buttons including the VP icon, select it , then switch off again.

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the thoughts..

However...

I am using Android Galaxy S2 and the VP icon doesn't drop off when in flight mode for me!

The problem is small VP icon sits above the Layout info in flight therefore taking up real estate on the screenand leaving a strip of chart above said Layout Info.

Using the clear screen button will also lose the menu buttons which would be less than desirable due to losing the ability to instantly access present location and other features.

Regards,

Alan.

Fair enough, but don't the menu buttons drop off in flight mode too, mine do, and if I require the present location I have to use the Clear Screen button to bring up the Menu buttons to select the Flight Mode button to get it.  Or maybe I'm missing something, I think I've only used the Loc. button once or twice in flight.

I'm using a Lenovo Android tablet so I wouldn't have thought we would be much different.

I've only just loaded 4.0.803 as I've been away and have just tried it static in the house and it appears to behave exactly as previous versions for me using the Flight Mode switch to put it into flight mode.

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan, could you please specify what Lenovo tablet exactly you are using? I want to buy a cheap tablet for EVFR4 and find the market more than confusing.

Thanks,

Albrecht

@emailalanradford-co-uk What Alan Gee describes can also be forced by tapping the bottom right button, doesn''t even have to be in flightmode:

This makes all other buttons (including the VPV toggle) disappear :

Hi Albrecht

I'm using a Lenovo Tab4-8 with 64 bit architechture and 2 gig of Ram.

I think its a 2019 version and may have been superseded by a new model number with similar spec.  It may still be available from some sources at reduced price, I think I got mine at the tail end of the production run and I think I paid about £140 for it.
