Hi Math,

I know various users using a stratux device withEV4. If you use the search function on this forum to search for "stratux" you should find a few posts. Or, maybe if you can describe what you want to know, we can help you here?

How should it be configured.

I find only the "Flarm / Butterfly / Airconnect" Config. With a FLARM PIN-CODE and a FLARM-IP.

Should I use this for Stratus too?

Hi Matthias,

You should NOT use the Flarm/Butterfly/Airconnect config option, make sure that is turned off; it should only by used when a device is used that requires TCP (FLARM and Garrecht are the only two known to me who still require that).

Stratux normally (I can't be 100% sure since there are many forks from the original stratux opensource project) uses GDL90 protocol on default port 4000. When you connect your tablet/phone to the WiFi network created by the stratux then normally EV4 will auto-detect this unit. You can verify this by doing menu->System->Location (GPS) source. There you will see a number of devices EV4 auto-scans for, and one is [GDL90 Stratux..... ]

Check if that line is dark or light green. Darkgreen means EV4 detected the unit but does not use it currently because the given accuracy is too low. Light green means its detected and actually using.

If that line is ordinary white, then something else is wrong. Either the tablet is not connected to the Stratux WiFi network, or the Stratux is not configured as it would normally. Or, last but not least, make sure no other apps are running in the background that also listen to the stratux. Only one app at the time can open port 4000 and only that app will receive the data then.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Rob,

fine it helps. I think, its only a question of "menu understanding". Perhaps the "electronic traffic" sub-menu can have an info field entry with "used traffic", independently from the GPS source?
