Dear aviators,

EasyVFR's goal is to give both beginner and advanced pilots peace of mind when planning and navigating VFR adventures.

New tier - The essentials for free

This beta release introduces a tiered structure for the EasyVFR 4 mobile app licenses. With these, EasyVFR 4's reliable quality information and tools become accessible and affordable for all European VFR airspace users. Bringing:

  • EasyVFR Essential >> Forever free.
  • EasyVFR Live >> from €3.99/month paid yearly.
  • EasyVFR Pro >> from €5.99/month paid yearly.
  • Monthly subscriptions for these tiers.

More about these new licenses during the coming weeks when we work on the new onboarding, documentation, public release, and press releases. Below is a summary of the new pricing and plans.

EasyVFR Essential (Forever free)
Essentially a better version of the VFR paper chart

  • Clean and up-to-date VFR chart for two countries in Europe of your own choice
  • Easy navigation tool
  • Essential weather: METAR, TAF
  • Graphical NOTAMs
  • Airport procedures and frequencies

EasyVFR Live (€3.99 per month if paid yearly, or €6.99 per month if paid monthly)
Explore Europe with live traffic and SmartMap

EasyVFR Essential plus:

  • SmartMap, showing real-time active airspace activations
  • NOTAM filtering
  • Live Traffic through GDL90
  • .. for the whole of Europe!

EasyVFR Pro (from €5.99 per month if paid yearly, or €8.99 per month if paid monthly)
Everything in the EasyVFR toolbox for mobile use.

The same as the familiar EasyVFR Standard.

Frequent Flyer Membership (€150 per year)
The FFM license remains as it is. EasyVFR Pro plus: EasyVFR for Desktop (that's macOS and Windows), flight plan filing, on all personal devices, and AeroData for your EFIS.

Furthermore in this release
Several use-case and workflow improvements are included. The search button was added to the bottom button bar, in favor of the Map Interest Timespan menu button which was moved to the Map Layers menu. The styling of the buttons in the bottom row is lifted to our new 2022 design, their position remains the same. See the rest notes below for the rest of the work done.

So, what do you think of our latest efforts? We will get back to you soon with more updates. And if you have any feedback feel free to write them below of send us an email.

Hi Tim, great meeting with you last weekend!

I really like the new styling, nice and clean.

Under EasyVFR Live you write: "VFR Approach plates*". The asterisk suggests a footnote or disclaimer. I assume it's the German maps but don't see this in a footnote?

Kind regards,

Hi Rob,

The pleasure was all mine. Thank you for your compliment on the new styling. I'll take that any day 😀 With every app update we will lift one more tool and workflow towards the new design system and style.

I indeed forgot about the footnote. You were correct on what it should say. I have now edited the post.

*Included are (georeferenced) VFR plates from the public AIP. Paid plates from DFS, Pooleys, and SkyGuide are available as an add-on.
