Hello,

easyvfr crashes since I updated to the latest OS version upon startup. Is this a known issue?

Hi Kai,

I used an old iMac with an Intel I7 CPU and I can't really use the Software on it. A) exceptional long loading time and B) always crashed. I think the iMac was still too old. Now I am using a MacMini A4Pro and it runs fast and without crashes.

I have some Issues if I using the program in fullscreen mode (5k Studio Display Panel) - I think the program can not fit it into this dimensions .- and b) I can not zoom the map... I have no Idea why not, but I can't find any key combinations to zoom in.

This is my latest expreriance

Konrad

Hello,

No performance and all that have been fine. It just crashed on me recently and the only thing I can think of is: new OS.

Hi, just some background information about EasyVFR4 on MacOS. Up to a few years ago MacOS ran -just like windows- on Intel based computers. Recent years Apple introduced their own Apple silicon processors, and since then Apple MacOS Intel usage is clearly reducing.

We use an openGL based graphical frontend, and for some reason Apple isn't really pro-active in keeping opengl backward compatible with each new MacOS Intel version they create. The last few major MacOS Intel versions caused EV4 to crash, and sometime suddenly after an update of MacOS everything started to work again. As a result, running EasyVFR4 on an Intel based MacOS system is some kind of a miss or hit situation; on some systems it works, on others it won't.

The only way to actually fix this is to replace our opengl frontend with apple's Metal frontend. But this is a major operation, and not economically feasible because the number of intel based MacOS users of EV4 is low, and will only decline in the future because all new macos systems are based on their Silicon processors.

As a result I am considering dropping MacOS Intel from our supported platform list. I try to keep each new version of EasyVFR4 also compiled for MacOS Intel, so for those where it works it will work, but we will no longer list  MacOS Intel in our supported platforms list anymore then.
