Maybe this is personal preference thing but I normally fly with the the Mapping set at 5NM, however at 4NM there is a lot more detail shown, rivers more roads etc. The difference in detail between the two degrees of magnification seems a bit extreme to me.

I would like the detail I can see on the Map at 4NM to be shown at 5NM?

Just discovered that the big variation in Map detail between 4nm and 5nm magnitude is only applicable on Win 10 with .647

On Android the detail difference between the two degrees of magnitude ( 4nm&5nm) is smaller and not so different so I guess all is good.

But why the difference between the two platforms?

Its not really a difference in platforms. The level of detail is depending on the total area size the map represents, not the camera altitude (what basically determines the scale).

Because on PC's the map is often much wider then its height, the area it shows on a given camera altitude is (much) more then on tablets or phones.

Because the larger the area, the more features need to be found and rendered, so more memory is required.

you can see this effect also by resizing your EasyVFR4 window on the PC, you will notice more details will come in then for the given camera altitude. That is one of the reasons I personally have the route planning window permanently docked on the left side of the window in Windows.
