The vertical view scale seems to auto zoom in flight. How can this be turned off? Everytime I looked at it in flight, the range had changed to a very small scale.
As far as I know there is no option to turn off the auto-scaling of the VP (based on the aircraft speed), sorry. But maybe the auto-scale values can be improved; can you tell me what your average speed is and what a comfortable forward looking distance for the VP is ?
My speed is normally around 90 knots. I believe a useful scale is about 10 minutes or 15 miles ahead. In complicated airspaces maybe less, in open areas maybe more.
Auto zooming to less than 12 miles should not be done, even at 0 speed.
When I manually change the scale, I expect it to stay there. The map scale stays there also. I find automatic zooming mostly annoying.
