24JUL2025: 4.5.7:
Dear aviators!
Some of you are probably enjoying a well-deserved vacation with your family while we’ve been working hard on the next EasyVFR 4 update! ✈️
Besides the usual bug fixes and small improvements, this version brings two major steps forward:
Performance and Responsiveness
Although still in progress, we’ve made noticeable improvements to the overall UI responsiveness of EasyVFR 4. We believe it’s already worthwhile for you to test these enhancements and share your feedback!
GPS Sharing and AutoPilot Steering
This update brings a powerful new capability for fixed-install cockpit use: EasyVFR 4 can now send GPS and AutoPilot commands to external devices!
Supported NMEA messages:
- $GPRMC
- $GPGGA
- $GPRMB
- $GPAPB
- $GPRMH
- $GPVTG
Communication options:
- TCP or UDP over Wi-Fi or network cable
- Perfect for Wi-Fi-to-serial (RS-232) adapters
We've been using the HF2211 hardware module during development. It connects RS-232 serial devices to a network and supports both TCP and UDP. It’s highly flexible:
- Acts as a Wi-Fi access point
- Or joins an existing network (ideal when using other AP-only devices like SkyEcho 2)
Introducing: Plan(e)station Mode
For those of you who fly with a permanently installed cockpit tablet, this new feature automates several tasks:
- Auto-sleep when mains power is disconnected (e.g. master switch off)
- Auto-reset to a preconfigured state when power is restored (aircraft, map config, etc.)
- Auto-center and auto-zoom after user panning or zooming
- Auto-download of data (AeroData, weather, NOTAMs...) when on ground and speed is zero and connected to Wi-Fi or mobile network
We’d love your feedback!
Please try out this version and share your experiences, findings, and suggestions right here in the forum. Your input helps us make EasyVFR even better.
Cheers,
The EasyVFR 4 Dev Team

Hello,
After update actions on routes do not work. Evf4 quits without notice while dowloading routes, creating local flight or trip, inserting or appending by rubberbanding or by pointing, ...
Happens on redmi note 9 pro android 12; on galaxy tab a7 android 14.
Same odd behaviour on Win 11 - Galaxy book 2 pro 360
Grtz,

Hi
I m struggling with the same problem as mentioned by Jef!!
Cheers, Urs
I’m sorry for the troubles caused. A temporary solution is to turn off the option menu->preferences->update route while editing. I expect a fix to be available in a few days.
Thnx. Works fine with this temp solution!
Thanks for the fix Rob. Switched on "automatically confirm...” in menu preferences. This speeds up creating/changing routes.
THANK YOU!
