How do I save a user wpt from the map or route to the “my user waypoints” list?  There must be a better way than to copy lat&long?

… also - the display of location on the map for User waypoints, and in the My Waypoints , doesn’t seem to respect the Units setting for position - always shows DD MM SS even when I have set my preferred decimal degrees

Hi all,

Valid questions! Previously, there was a way to save a user waypoint or TCK via the Quick Info window that opened through the old Quick Info Wheel after tapping on the map. However, with the new info sheet that opens after a map tap or long press, this option was not included. It should have been added, and I have discussed it with the team. It is now scheduled to be added as soon as possible.

@tyddynon: I have tested it, and at my EV4 installation, the Info Sheet and even the Radio card respect the Unit preference. In My User Waypoints, you can cycle through the units used by tapping on the unit name itself. I will ask the developers if the first used unit can be aligned with the selected Unit preference.

Cheers!

Thanks Tim. Glad to hear the waypoint saving will soon be sorted.

On the Units:

  • I set my LatLong notation to DDeg
  • Open My Userwaypoint and they are shown in Deg Min Sec. As you say, I can change it, but I would expect that the default would be that selected in Preferences
  • I must have had finger trouble with the User Wpt value, as as you say it does come up using DDeg.
  • But can I suggest that 5 decimal places is rather more than necessary? That represents a precision of about 1m, and I doubt that any of us can fly that precisely!
