A suggestion: when wanting an uncluttered map by disabling the weather it also removes it from the VPV too.
Can thus be separately controlled? Ie keep the weather on the VPV and remove from map.
This woukd now be particularly useful as you have the preset buttons to view weather, notams and maps separately.

Hi Bob,
you can do that already: In the mapview check the weather "on-map" box and in the weather map-layers uncheck wind on map, sigWX on map and Clouds on map while leaving the VPV boxes checked.
