I too still also run Ev3 on an Ipadmini2 but 2Mb isn't large enough to run Ev4. You are going top have to buy a Tablet with more memory and a 64bit processor.

For me, I have a Galaxy S2 that I have Ev4 on running in parallel to Ev3 both running at the same time. A sort of a cross-check if you like.

I do though still like the simplicity of Ev3! It is quick to load and easy and simple to use. Ev4 is good with far more features/options than Ev3 but this makes it quite complex with perhaps just too many features. It seems to be always uploading or updating something on startup which can be irritating at times.

The latest full requirements for running Version 4 can be found at https://support.easyvfr4.aero/help/what-are-the-system-requirements-for-ev4

As regards IOS, the advice is:

  • iPad Air 2 and higher.
  • iPad Mini 4 and higher.
  • iPhone 6S and higher.

Hallo, gibts mal bald wieder einen aktualisierten Benchmark-Test. Will mein Ipad-mini2 mit einem 7/8-Zoll Androidtablet ersetzen.

Hi Erich,

We constantly keep an eye out for a good performing 8" Android tablet, but unfortunately there just isn't one around that even comes close to how an iPad mini 5 or 6 performs. The 8" android devices we evaluated are all low end and using a screen that is very difficult to read outdoors. So perfect for indoors video's watching and web browsing, but not so good for outdoor navigating.

There are plenty of 10" high performance android devices, but when the desired screen size is limited to 8", then there is nothing that beats and iPad mini 5 or 6 I'm afraid.

hallo Rob, vielen Dank für deine Information. 10" sind mir im Cockpit zu groß. Werde dann weiter bei EV3 auf meinem Ipad bleiben. LG erich

Agreed it's a struggle. I'm fairly pleased with the Samsung Tab A7 lite 8.7" so far. In the middle of summer with sunglasses on it would have been nice to have more brightness though.........but it never overheated even when we got 45 degrees in the cockpit in direct sunlight this summer!
