Off topic Old EasyVFR 3.97 - Error!!! Unable to determine airaccycleid ...
This is EasyVFR3 running on a brand new Lenovo M8 on Android 13. (It turns out that Lenovo forgot to mention this is 32-bit Android so I can't use EasyVFR4 as planned).
When I first installed it and turned it on it seemed to be okay on a quick test with a SkyEcho 2, but a couple of weeks later I came to use it and I'm getting the following error message on loading..
"Error (Marmalade v9.0.0 [20190902161311q]
ERROR!!! Unable To determine AIRACCYCLEDID FOR 20231211, indication for MEMORYCORRUPTION" [CONTINUE|STOP].
It doesn't matter which button I hit, I get this next:
"ERROR!!! Unable To determine AIRACCYCLEDID FOR 20231211, indication for MEMORYCORRUPTION" [OK].
It goes through this twice and then the thing loads but can't determine my location. I checked, the GPS is working and it's accessing Android location services. This may be a clue as to what the message means.
So... I uninstalled and reinstalled the App. No change. Then I did a factory reset on the tablet and installed the App again. No difference. And I thought it might be server problem, but it's been doing this for over a week now. It's not a clash with other Apps, as I have installed none.
Any idea what's going on here? I preferred EasyVFR's monthly licensing as I don't fly often, and I have a soft spot for EasyVFR, but this is pushing me away big time. However, I'm happy to dig into the code if that's possible.
I think that Tim has been communicating with you as well. I am not an Android expert as I use an iPad Mini 5 & iPhone 10 for EasvyVFR, but I know that some Android manufacturers are supplying 64 bit hardware with 32 bit operating systems which I think is totally unacceptable.
We do have an article about devices which we know are good:
Unfortunately, EasyVFR 4 does require a 64-bit OS to run due to the background software behind the product which may differ from other software.
My recommendation would be to get the most most powerful device that your pocket can afford. As time goes on, software will become even hungrier for resources and processing power. If you can return your tablet and get a better replacement that will be your best bet.
