I know I'm going to regret this but can someone "geez a clue" what these are in the Geo section of the Map Layers Menu?

Intrigued.

Alan

Hi Alan,

Why would you regret it? Excellent question.

From top of my head: The people moving lines are things like skilifts and cabletrains in mountains. EV4 currently only shows them in Switzerland and Austria on a low zoom level. These are colored in brown

I guess that the low altitude lines are similar but for goods transportation. These are colored in red.

Cheers, Tim

@timpeter

Thanks Tim

I thought I was probably missing something obvious but I would not have guessed those.

I'm glad you asked! Now maybe somebody can come up with a better, shorter description ? "People moving lines" are what the swiss describe as "cable railway", "Aerial railway", "chair-lift", "suspension-bridge" or "ski-lift" in their official obstacle datasource. All other lines are grouped as "low altitude aerial features"  in EasyVFR4. I offer a craddle of finest Dutch beer on upcoming Friedrichshafen Aero to the one who comes up with the best description replacement 🙂

Hi Rob

You'll need to get busy depicting these in Scotland then, I'd hate to bump into any People Moving Lines or Low Altitude Aerial Line Features in our Scottish mountains. ?

How about just keeping it simple:- 'Ski Lifts/Cable Cars'.

Alan.
