Rubberbanding will normally lock on nearby places / airports or intersections. But it will not recognize user waypoints. These can only be inserted through the search function.

Rob has confirmed the bug - and fixed in in Version 4.1.302. I'm not sure when that version - or a derivative - might be released as a public beta, but whenever the next public beta comes out it should be fixed. Thanks again for reporting it, Leif!
