Is it possible to connect EVFR4 to X-Plane?
You can connect with xUDPNMEA
xUDPNMEA is a plug-in for X-Plane 10 to test-drive PocketFMS / EasyVFR. Works fine with X-Plane 11 as well
Ok thanks
(edited, didn't read all of the above 🙂 )

Just tested and it's still working with latest X-Plane 11.40r2. For EV4 you have to set port 43211 whereas for EV3 you have to set port 11000. If you do net get connected automatically, edit file xUdpNMEA.cfg in X-Plane plugin folder instead of setting IP and port in X-Plane plugin settings
Hmm How do you configure EVFR to accept this setting? Tried the "use external GPS" button, but nothing happens.
EVFR connects automatically when using above mentioned ports. In EV4 it's then identified as "GDL90 iLevel SW2/3 (UDP)"
OK Thanks. It works now, both for 3 and 4. Seems to be a bit slow to update the GPS alt ? about every 30 seconds or so.
Attached you find a LUA script for the X-Plane 11 plugin FlyWithLua. This script sends GPRMC, GPGGA, GPGSA NMEA sentences via UDP.
Details about FlyWithLua and how to use it can be found at:
GitHub: https://github.com/X-Friese/FlyWithLua and at the X-Plane forum:
FlyWithLua scripts work independently from the platform X-Plane 11 is running on. So, this script should run on Windows, Mac and Linux. I have to admit the script was tested on Windows only since I do not have the other machines and any feedback is highly appreciated when the scrip is used on other platforms. Kindly let my know any improvements you applied. As this is my first LUA it's very likely that errors may occur
Prerequisite to run this script is latest FlyWithLua installed in your X-Plane 11. To activate the script un-zip and copy it to the FlyWithLua script folder X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins\FlyWithLua\Scripts
When the script is successfully activated, you’ll find a new macro in the FlyWithLua macro menu to set the Network IP-address and port of your device EasyVFR is running on. For EV3 you need to set port 11000 and for EV4 set 43211.
Have fun
Ubi Sumus
Hi,
I'd like to note a free alternative to @Ubi Sumus's suggestions is XP Remote for Android.
Once properly installed you can select XP Remote as the mock location app in developer options in your device settings. Once you've connected XP Remote with X-Plane it should automatically mock your location and Easy VFR should work.
I failed miserably trying to connect to x-plane 11.5.
with sky demon it worked flawlessly.
I am still fan of Easyvfr4 so please make that feature plug and play, it is very convenient for training
What plugin shall I create a bullet proof instruction for? Will take some time since I'm currently very busy.
Dear Irmin
have a look at attached PDF.
Please keep in mind we all love to help, but we do that voluntarily in our free time and highly appreciate a minimum amount of kindness like a hello or a small thank you.
Happy Landings

Dear Ubi, I did not manage to connect to X-Plane by simply put xUDPNMEA into the plugins folder. It simply did not show up in the plugins menue... However, after installing FlywithLua and proceeding on this way it worked flawlessly. So, thank you very much for your help, DANKE SCHÖN. Now, to a completely different issue. Some of the maps I purchased in Easyvfr4 show up on my Ipad and Iphone but not on my PC! ...just frustrating...
Please forward your paypal email to Irmin(at)Kerck.com, I would like to send over a little "danke"
Irmin
Dear Irmin,
good to hear it's working at least with LUA. But I'm surprised that above Install xUDPNMEA.pdf did not help. I created that step by step that evening and as shown in the screen shots, it's working as expected in my Windows 10 with XP11.53.

Brilliant, thanks guys. I've been looking in the wrong place for this for a while, but downloaded FlyWithLua + the script, booted up Xplane and set the IP address and EV4 just changed to it automagically. Wonderful.
I use linux to drive Xplane, and this works just fine.
Dear Ubi,
I use X-plane 11.5 on a iMac with macOS Monterey 12.5.1. FlyWithLua is installed and I put xUdpNMEA in the plugin-folder.
After starting up X-Plane the xUdpNMEA didn't show up. I noticed that in the plugin/xUdpNMEA there are is only a Win.xpl file and no Mac.xpl (as with other plugins).
Could this be a reason why xUdpNMEA doesn't show up?
Jos Nederlof
Dear Jos,
sorry for the delay, I was on a trip.
xUdpNMEA is not the the LUA script, that's a binary file for Windows only.
For FlyWithLua only the script file NMEA_UDP V0.1.lua is needed. Please read above post dated 18 January 2020 16:30 and download NMEA_UDP V0.1.zip from same post.

I must admit I am surprised the difficulty connecting EasyVFR4 to X-plane 12. I currently use Skydemon, but was impressed with the display in EasyVFR4, so signed up for a monthly pro subscription.
Neither of the above suggestions work with Xplane 12. I thank the posters for their efforts, but I signed up for something that should really be easier to connect.
I can confirm that both tools xUDPNMEA and the LUA script NMEA_UDP V0.1.lua connect properly X-Plane 12.00b3 to EasyVFR. For details check below posts.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to drop in and share some cool stuff we've been working on with Ubi Sumus and EasyVFR 4.
Video on Youtube
We have made a video to show you how to use your simulators like X-Plane, Prepar3D, and MSFS2020 to act like a GPS for EasyVFR 4.
Documentation
All the info, downloads for FSConny, and the video are over at https://easyvfr4.aero/sim .
Hope you enjoy these updates as much as we do. Happy flying and happy holidays!
Cheers,
Tim
