There is room for improvement on the landscape iPad screen.
The following picture uses a full size route window. Then, from the small remaining map on the bottom, an airport is selected for information.
This results in a hidden “x“ and a QIW in the middle of the text.
It is possible to adjust the width of the Route window, but neither the height nor the position is adjustable. In portrait mode not even the width can be changed.
Hi Leif,
You can adjust the width by dragging the right side of the Route Planning window. When dragged to the left until it gets also placed on the left of the VPV, VPV the Route Planning window acts almost like a split-screen. You can leave it there during both flight planning and navigation.
Does this work for you?
Cheers,
Tim
Thank you. Now I noticed the „jump“ to the „split screen“, and that seems fine.
However, when increasing the width of the route window, this will suddenly change the position of the top and bottom of the window. It is not possible to adjust them.
The top part of the now visible VPV is useless (wasted screen space). If the route window was anchored in the upper left corner, this would increase the visible map on the bottom.
When opening the QIW on top of a very wide route window, the displayed info window will have the same very wide width. This also seems unnecessary.
Could EV “remember” the width of the info window, so it does not need to be adjusted every time?
