Hello.
During a flight or before you can choose "Direct to" on a localisation to go directly to this point. But when you do this, it creates a waypoint at the point where you made the decision.
While this isn't necessarily a problem on the plains, because you're going from point A to point B almost in a straight line, in the mountains, for example, you can deviate considerably from the direct route.
Would it be possible for the purple route to follow the device instead of remaining fixed on the starting waypoint?
Good day.
Hi Arnaud,
Just a short message to let you know we are working on improving the Direct To functionality. No releasedate set yet, but at least it is in the pipeline.
Hi Rob,
Great. Thank you for the update !
That's a really nice idea! I've never used software that operates in that way but it makes total sense! I spend most of my time during a direct-to with the line being off to the side and so the heading being wrong! On the garmin units coupled to the primary flight screen this also puts the GNSS based OBS arrow in the wrong place for the whole leg as well!
I like the Garmin way of dealing with direct to.
They have two separate ways. If you activate direct to a flightplan waypoint, it will discard all points before, and sequence the plan after the waypoint.
If you enter a waypoint name, the direct will be placed in front of the flightplan. Thereby the flightplan remains untouched. Sequencing has to be performed manually.
