Inflight, with VPV displayed, the airplane symbol can hide behind the VPV. If the position is panned away even further, the arrow is mostly hidden and can not be reached for recentering.

That feature is a real PITA. Its impossible to prevent it from get covered in many cases. That is one of the reasons why we added the re-center function also to the North-up/Track-up arrow. When you pan the map, 4 little triangles are drawn arround the arrow, indicating when you tap the icon EV4 will recenter to current plane position.
