In the flight plan two alternates can be defined.
Could it be an idea to add the actual true track and distance from present position, or insert a dct to button, so when a route to an alternate is required that a direct routing is immediately available.

Hmm, I like the idea of a quick DirectTo an alternate. We still have to develop a more complete "Direct To" option in EV4 (for example also to skip a leg in a route planning), lets take a Direct To one of the two alternates into that design also ?

Excellent, maybe an idea to implement a direct track, distance and minimum safe altitude in one window?
