Dear aviators,

A few small last-minute improvements slipped into this release :

- Airspaces where sometimes listed twice in on the Info Card->Airspaces tab

- NOTAM description lines on the map that ended with "AMSL" got abbreviated as "AM".

- The  Data download now takes place in the order as listed on the StatusCard
- Improved performance map rendering when traveling at high speed and zoomed-in far.
-With option menu->preferences->Rubber Band by Tap & hold enabled sometimes a release after the rubberbanding did not trigger the Confirm or Cancel changes in the route bubble.
- various time related fields on the route card are displayed with a bit more spacing to increase readability.
- When zooming in using the mouse wheel then when fully zoomed in a zoom out with the mouse did not work, only the on-screen zooming still worked after which the mousewheel scroll worked again

From the previous beta:

We are having fun developing new features and improving EasyVFR4 as preparation for the upcoming flying season! in this version:a

  • New Calendar control to specify planned takeoff Date Time and set the Map Timeframe for which to show NOTAMs and active airspaces.

  • Remote radio tuning Becker AR620X series radios
  • Re-worked the entire flight plans saving and loading.  Loading flight plans offer various ways of sorting the listing (date of last usage, favorite and filename), saving flight plans allow to specify keywords that then can be used as filter.

  • An entirely new feature to create and maintain notes within EasyVFR4!

Drawing & Text

  • Freehand drawing — draw strokes with your finger or stylus directly on the canvas
  • Text annotations — tap anywhere to place typed text on the canvas
  • Three pen colors — black, red, and blue for quick visual distinction
  • Adjustable pen width — 10 thickness levels from fine lines to bold strokes
  • Automatic stroke grouping — consecutive strokes drawn close together are grouped for easy selection

Canvas & Layout

  • Three background styles — blank, ruled lines, or grid paper
  • Pinch-to-zoom — zoom from 50% to 400% with smooth two-finger gestures
  • Pan navigation — two-finger drag to scroll around a large canvas
  • Left / Full / Right layout — position the Note Pad on either side of the screen or use full width, so the moving map stays visible

Editing

  • Select mode — tap any stroke or text to select it
  • Move & resize — drag to reposition or use 8 resize handles to scale objects
  • Delete objects — remove selected strokes or text, or clear the entire canvas
  • Undo & Redo — step through up to 20 actions with one tap

Save, Load & Share

  • Save with keywords — name your notes and add keywords for easy retrieval
  • Modern file picker — browse, search, sort by date/name/favorites, and manage your saved notes
  • Favorites — bookmark frequently used notes for quick access
  • Delete with undo — 5-second undo snackbar protects against accidental deletion
  • Auto-save session — your current work is automatically preserved when closing the app and restored on reopen

Export & Sync

  • Export to PDF — generate a high-quality vector PDF and share via email, AirDrop, or any other sharing option
  • TripKit integration — include your Note Pad as a page in the TripKit PDF for a complete flight briefing package
  • Cloud sync — saved notes are automatically synchronized across all your devices
  • Offline-safe — changes are queued when offline and synced automatically when connectivity returns

We’d love your feedback!

Please try out this version and share your experiences, findings, and suggestions right here in the forum. Your input helps us make EasyVFR even better.

Cheers,

The EasyVFR 4 Dev Team

4.7.10 beta (26MAR2026)

  • IMPROVED: Performance of NOTAM processing after downloading
  • IMPROVED: EasyVFR4 now recognizes when the user taps on the outline of a NOTAM on the map (provided it is on the inside of the notam area). In that case it will directly show the NOTAM content on the InfoCard
  • IMPROVED: text editing fields (like filenames in file-save dialogs etc) now auto-scroll when typing out of the view window, and allow re-positioning of the cursor by tapping on the desired location.
  • NEW: Autopilot turn anticipation added 10 additional seconds to the time anticipated to turn to the next waypoint. This is now user-configurable using menu->system->GPS and Autopilot settings, option "Turn anticipation extra time"
  • NEW: menu->preferences->Alarms and Warnings now has option "Leg Change Coming Up Popup" that allows the user to suppress the banner that comes up when a leg change is upcoming
  • NEW: Android and windows users can now enable Direct Keyboard Input Mode using menu->System->Direct Keyboard Input. This option does not use a modal popup window to enter text. Android users with custom on-screen keyboards might not be able to use this feature.
  • FIXED: Version 4.7.8 introduced a bug that caused notam downloads to permanently fail, only solution was uninstall and reinstall

4.7.8 beta (02MAR2026)

  • NEW: Flightplan takeoff time and the timeframe that is used by the map to represent notams and AUP is now changed to a full calender interface. The MapLayers menu now is the place to override the default timespan set by EasyVFR4
  • IMPROVED: Dynon and MGL data exchanges now display percentage completed when they are downloading the EFB catalogue
  • IMPROVED: The new Notepad system is simplified by removing the lefthand/righthand/full screen option, from now on it is always fullscreen.
  • IMPROVED: The new Notepad system is simplified by removing the option to select lines, grid or no background. From now on it is always grid.
  • FIXED: Dynon DataExchange was broken in 5.7.6, it didn't offer the option to select a destination drive.
  • FIXED: RouteCard, NOTAM tab, sorting "Newest first" did in fact put the newest at the bottom
  • FIXED: In landscape mode, with the route window docked on the left side, enabling the edit mode of the instruments ribbon this edit screen could sometimes not be closed because the positioning prevented the closing X. In these cases EasyVFR4 will now automatically close the route window to create enough space.
  • FIXED: When tap&hold on the VPV trackline sometimes the release of the tap was not handled so planned altitude was not changed
  • FIXED: Numeric-only data entry (for example planned altitude for a leg in the route window) worked weird on iPadOS26.x

  • 4.7.6 beta (11FEB2026)
  • NEW: Scratchpad / Notepad
  • NEW: Becker AR620X series remote radio tuning
  • NEW: Store flight plans with tags to use for filtering when loading these later.
