Hello EasyVFR team,
Is it possible to add some area with a KML files inside the map ?
We have in France some non flying area due to birds of prey nesting. Flying over is forbidden from the ground level to 3300ft AGL (highest point of the area).
Authorities give maps and KML files.
How can we add this to EasyVFR ?

Thank you.
Hi Arnaud,
That's not possible on the user's side, but I may be able to add those areas to our database, so everyone flying there can see them. I *am* a bit busy so please allow me a little time to get this done. 😉
I see that their activation times are nasty! To know whether they're active you need to be a biologist or dive into that website once a month to keep things updated! 😨
UPDATE: All areas from that source have been added to our database, and will become available in the next AeroData build. Thanks again for reporting!
Hello Nosegear.
For a busy guy you are very fast on this one !! Thank you
Yes it's quite tricky indeed. They update the area regularly : next update 2nd of July, 16th of August and 31st of August.
Activation time is 24/7.
Normally they will remove this area the 16th of August for all the French territories except for the Alps. Area will be removed the 31st of August for the Alps.
Forbidden airspace goes from the highest point of the area to 1000m AGL for motor plane and 300m for gliders.
The idea is to not disturbing the nesting and this is why they only create these areas at certain periods and why they vary from one month or year to the next, because the birds are not necessarily in the same area every year, or because there are new nesting areas.
On another apps, user is able to download directly the KML files avoiding the apps team a lot of work to update the maps. It can be maybe a good idea for EasyVFR to add this feature on a next version.
Anyway thank you !
