AIP Supplements Download: Faster, smarter, and always current between AIRAC cycles
Hello fellow aviator! 👋
European airspace changes daily—and not just on AIRAC day. EasyVFR 4.6.7 makes it easier to stay current between cycles with faster AIP Supplement airspace updates, smarter NOTAM workflows, and a simpler, more predictable cockpit UI.
Highlights at a glance
- Faster AIP Supplement Airspace updates with a new, dedicated download option
- NOTAM sorting in Pro Route Planning (Scope, Relevance, Airfields first, Latest first)
- Consolidated controls for Vertical Profile and Instruments ribbon (Auto / On / Off)
- Dozens of map, route, and stability improvements
Thank you for flying with EasyVFR and for the steady stream of feedback—please keep it coming! 🙏

NOTAM sorting (Pro and FFM): find what matters, faster
When a route is active, you can now sort NOTAMs in Pro Route Planning by:
- Scope
- Relevance
- Airfields first
- Latest first
How to use it:
Activate a route → open Pro Route Planning → NOTAM tab → select the Sort button on the right of the tabs.
Your chosen sort order is also applied to the PDF TripKit.

Faster AIP Supplement Airspace updates
Don’t fly yesterday’s data—many countries publish short‑notice changes via AIP Supplements outside the 28‑day AIRAC cycle, often as unstructured PDFs.
Historically, EasyVFR bundled this data with AeroData updates and fell back to our internal NOTAM feed for last‑minute SUPs, so you still received timely warnings even without a manual AeroData refresh.
What’s improved now is both sides of the pipeline and delivery
- Upgraded data maintenance pipelines
Our team continuously ingests AIP SUP documents from across Europe, filters what’s relevant for VFR, and enriches entries with coordinates, activation times, and operational remarks. We’ve reworked our internal tools and validation to push approved changes through faster and more reliably. - Faster, independent delivery in the app
We’ve simplified the UI and underlying data model so Supplement‑based airspace can be refreshed more frequently and automatically—independent of the standard AeroData download. This reduces the gap between publication and what you see on the map.
The result: Dynamic Airspace Mapping that stays current between AIRAC cycles, with fresher SUP‑driven restrictions appearing on your map with less delay—moving toward near‑daily refreshes where the source data allows.
How to update AIP Supplement Airspaces in EasyVFR
Status card (tap the red/yellow/green status button) → Data → “AIP Supplement Airspaces.”
This updates your local airspace database with all published changes since your last download, so you’re far less likely to miss short‑notice activations, reactivations of dormant areas, or temporary restrictions.
Tip: Enable automatic updates so Supplement changes are fetched in the background. If you prefer manual control, a single tap on “AIP Supplement Airspaces” pulls the latest package on demand.

Vertical Profile and Instruments ribbon: simpler, consistent control
We’ve addressed cases where the Vertical Profile (VP) and Instruments ribbon could auto-enable or disable in ways that surprised users—especially after manual changes.
All three modes—Auto, On, and Off—are now consolidated under Display options. This makes behavior predictable and easy to adjust, whether you prefer the system to manage visibility automatically or you want full manual control.
- Where: Display options → Vertical Profile / Instruments ribbon
- Why it matters: fewer surprises, a cleaner cockpit, and quick access when you want it.
More enhancements & fixes
- When loading a route, the map now pans and zooms to show the entire route.
- Airspaces active only during parts of the year are no longer rendered when the map interest timespan does not include their active period.
There’s even more under the hood—too much to list here! See the release notes for all the details.
Behind the Scenes – What’s next?
While 4.6.7 brings plenty you can see and feel, our most significant work is happening under the hood. We’re upgrading data pipelines and core OS integrations to deliver faster updates and smoother cockpit connectivity.
Here’s what we can share today:
- 📡 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) cockpit connectivity
Android and iOS BLE support are coming. Anything we can send over Wi‑Fi will also work over Bluetooth LE. Send and receive position, routes, and (coming soon) frequencies. If you’d like your device prioritized, reply with your BLE device model(s). - 📻 Send frequencies to your radio
Now in alpha testing with selected users. Have a BLE‑capable radio and want to help? Let us know your setup. - ⚡ Next‑gen NOTAMs & Dynamic Airspace Mapping:
Over the past two years we’ve completely re‑imagined NOTAM ingestion: how our servers receive and normalize messages, how data is distributed, and how apps consume dynamic airspace information. V1 of the new backend and API is complete and is being rolled into EasyVFR 4 and into an entirely new product. Our goal: remove the confusion around NOTAMs and temporary restrictions so you get clear, complete, and actionable airspace information—inside EasyVFR, in a new tool, and via partner integrations. We expect to invite all EasyVFR Live, Pro, and FFM users to early access before year‑end. What would you like this tool to be?
We’re building the future of EasyVFR — and this is just the beginning.
